Artist Statement

Inspired by the iconic interior design trends that defined the mid-20th century, my work celebrates the innovative furniture and decor of the 1950s-1980s and the timeless appeal of domestic nostalgia. Through acrylic paint on wood panel, I combine rendering with elements that hint at the surreal to construct scenes that straddle the line between reality and imagination.

I source images and inspiration from vintage catalogs, auction sites, thrift/antique stores, and even my own furniture I’ve inherited from relatives. Using these references and research, I create digital collages to assemble my compositions before painting.

My paintings serve as imaginary yet recognizable scenes of past decades, inviting viewers to revel in the familiarity of retro design elements and perhaps rediscover traces of their own personal histories.
